The Office of the Chairman, NEET UG Medical and Dental Admission Board, Rajasthan, has opened the round 2 choice filling and locking process for NEET UG 2025 counselling. Candidates seeking admission to MBBS and BDS courses under state quota seats can now submit their preferences online within the stipulated window.

A major highlight this year is the requirement of a refundable security deposit, which ranges up to ₹5 lakh for MBBS admissions in private medical colleges.

Key Details of Round 2 Counselling

• Choice Filling Window: Open now for round 2; candidates must fill and lock choices before the deadline.

• Security Deposit:

  • ₹25,000 for government colleges (general category).

  • ₹12,500 for SC/ST/OBC/MBC/EWS candidates in government colleges.

  • Up to ₹5,00,000 for private medical colleges offering MBBS seats.

• Reporting: Candidates allotted seats in round 2 will have to report to their allotted institutions within the given timeline.

Why the Security Deposit?

Officials clarified that the high security deposit has been introduced to reduce seat blocking and ensure only serious candidates participate in counselling. The amount is refundable but will be forfeited if a candidate fails to join the allotted college after seat allotment.

Available Seats in Rajasthan

Rajasthan offers nearly 5,200 MBBS seats and 1,400 BDS seats across government and private institutions. After round 1, several seats remain vacant due to withdrawals, making round 2 crucial for aspirants seeking better colleges or upgraded courses.

Advisory to Students

The counselling board has urged candidates to carefully read the updated guidelines before submitting choices and ensure that sufficient funds are arranged for the security deposit. Students are also advised to double-check their preference order, as allotment will strictly depend on NEET UG 2025 rank, category, and seat availability.

With round 2 now underway, competition for MBBS and BDS seats in Rajasthan is expected to intensify, especially in top-ranked medical colleges.
