JEE Main Results 2025: January 28 shift 1 rated ‘toughest’; what is a good score for session 1 exam

    JEE Main

The JEE Main 2025 Session 1 exam, held from January 22 to 29, featured varying levels of difficulty across different shifts. Notably, the January 28 Shift 1 exam was considered the toughest among all sessions.

    January 28 Shift 1 Analysis:

    • Physics: Rated moderate to difficult, with concept-based questions.
    • Chemistry: Considered easy to moderate, with many questions directly from NCERT.
    • Mathematics: Moderate difficulty, slightly time-consuming.

Good Score in JEE Main 2025 Session 1:

A “good” score in JEE Main varies based on individual goals and the institutions one aims to join. Generally, a percentile between 85 to 95 is considered ideal for gaining admission to IITs and NITs. This typically translates to a score of approximately 150 to 200 out of 300.

It’s important to note that the National Testing Agency (NTA) employs a normalization process to account for varying difficulty levels across different shifts. This ensures fairness in scoring, so candidates from a tougher shift are not disadvantaged. Therefore, while the January 28 Shift 1 was deemed more challenging, the normalization process will adjust scores accordingly to maintain equity among all test-takers.
