How was NEET 2025 exam? Biometric failures, delays threaten students’ MBBS dreams

    NEET UG

The NEET-UG 2025 examination, held on May 4, was marred by significant biometric verification issues across various centers, causing distress among candidates and raising concerns about the exam’s integrity.

    Biometric Verification Challenges

In Ahmedabad, multiple examination centers experienced technical glitches in the biometric attendance system. Many students were initially denied entry due to authentication failures, particularly those with outdated Aadhaar cards. This led to delays and protests from concerned parents, necessitating police intervention at locations like LD Engineering College.

Similarly, in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, biometric issues at the Andhra University center affected 70 students, causing a delay of about 20 minutes. Students faced problems with their Aadhaar cards, leading to authentication failures.

In Delhi’s Jahangirpuri area, some students reported that their biometric authentication could not be completed, leading to concerns about their ability to sit for the exam.

    Concerns Over Exam Integrity

Reports have emerged suggesting that some NEET centers skipped biometric verification entirely due to “server issues.” This has raised concerns about the possibility of proxy candidates and the overall integrity of the examination process.

    Impact on Students

The biometric failures and subsequent delays have caused significant stress among candidates, potentially affecting their performance. With NEET being a crucial examination for medical aspirants, such disruptions can have long-term implications on students’ academic and professional futures.

    Official Response

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has not yet issued a detailed statement addressing these biometric verification issues. However, the widespread nature of the problems underscores the need for a thorough review of the verification processes to ensure fairness and integrity in future examinations.

As the NEET-UG 2025 results are awaited, it remains to be seen how these challenges will be addressed and what measures will be implemented to prevent similar issues in subsequent exams.
