Bihar NEET UG 2025 Counselling Resumes; Round 2 Schedule Announced with Free-Exit Option
The Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) has officially resumed the NEET UG 2025 state-level counselling for MBBS/BDS admissions, introducing a “free exit” facility for candidates who were allotted seats in Round 1, along with a revised timeline for Round 2.
Key Highlights
Free Exit Period for Round 1: Candidates allotted seats in Round 1 can withdraw without forfeiting their security deposit between September 2 and September 3, 2025, until 4:00 PM.
Round 2 Choice Filling: Opens on September 5, 2025, and closes September 8, 2025.
Provisional Allotment: The Round 2 seat allotment result will be published on September 12, 2025, followed by downloading of allotment orders from September 12 to 18.
Document Verification & Admission: Scheduled from September 15 to 18, 2025.
Who’s Eligible and What You Should Know
Candidates who filled choices but did not receive a seat in Round 1 will automatically be considered in Round 2, based on their previously submitted preferences.
Those opting for a free exit must resign via the BCECEB portal by the deadline—upon resignation, past preferences are discarded, and fresh choice filling is required to participate in Round 2.
Certain candidates whose Round 1 seats were canceled, or who faced technical issues (e.g., couldn’t opt for B.V.C. Patna earlier), can now add or modify such preferences during Round 2.
Why It Matters
The free-exit option offers students flexibility—not penalizing those dissatisfied with their current allotment and allowing them to refurbish options in Round 2. In addition, Round 2 provides a fresh chance for those who didn’t get a seat initially or those aiming for better choices.
The schedule also aligns with the Medical Counselling Committee’s (MCC’s) national framework, ensuring coherence with broader NEET UG timelines.
