NIT Raipur Holds Induction Programme for First-Year UG Students
The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Raipur organized an induction programme to welcome its newly admitted first-year undergraduate (UG) students for the academic session 2025-26. The event was held at the institute campus and witnessed enthusiastic participation from freshers, faculty members, and senior students.
The induction programme aimed to familiarize students with the academic culture, values, and facilities of the institute, while also helping them adjust to the new phase of their higher education journey.
Highlights of the Programme
Inaugural Session: The programme was inaugurated by the Director of NIT Raipur, who addressed the gathering and encouraged students to pursue academic excellence, innovation, and holistic development.
Guest Lectures: Eminent speakers from academia and industry were invited to motivate students and share insights on career planning, research opportunities, and skill development.
Orientation on Academic Structure: Faculty members briefed the students on the curriculum, credit system, examination rules, and academic resources such as libraries, laboratories, and online learning platforms.
Counseling & Support: Special sessions were conducted on mental health, stress management, and mentoring support to ensure a smooth transition into the demanding academic environment.
Campus Familiarization: Students were taken on a guided tour of the campus, introducing them to hostels, sports facilities, research labs, and innovation centers.
Director’s Address
In his keynote, the Director emphasized the importance of discipline, creativity, and teamwork. He urged students to actively engage in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities along with academics, stating, “NIT Raipur is not just a place for learning engineering but also for building character, leadership, and a vision for contributing to society.”
Parents’ Interaction
The programme also included an interactive session with parents, where faculty members explained the institute’s mentoring system and assured them of continuous support for their wards’ overall growth.
Student Engagement
Senior students shared their experiences through cultural performances and motivational talks, making the event lively and welcoming. A short film showcasing NIT Raipur’s achievements, research milestones, and student success stories was also screened.
The induction programme concluded with the oath-taking ceremony, where first-year students pledged to uphold the values of integrity, innovation, and inclusiveness.
