Amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan following Operation Sindoor, concerns have arisen regarding the potential postponement of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2025. However, as of now, there is no official announcement indicating any change in the exam schedule.

Exam Schedule Remains Unchanged

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, the organizing institute for JEE Advanced 2025, has confirmed that the examination will proceed as scheduled on Sunday, May 18, 2025. The exam will be conducted in two shifts:

• Paper 1: 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

• Paper 2: 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM

The official website, jeeadv.ac.in, reflects no changes to the exam timetable.

Admit Card Release

Candidates can download their admit cards starting May 11, 2025, from the official JEE Advanced portal. The admit card will contain essential details such as the candidate’s name, roll number, exam center, and important instructions. It is mandatory to carry a printed copy of the admit card along with a valid photo ID to the examination center.

Student Concerns and Official Stance

While students have expressed concerns on social media about the feasibility of conducting the exam amid the current geopolitical situation, IIT Kanpur has not issued any statement regarding a postponement. Students are advised to rely solely on official communications from the JEE Advanced authorities and avoid speculation based on unofficial sources.

Other Exams Affected

It is noteworthy that some other examinations have been postponed due to the prevailing tensions. For instance, the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG 2025 is likely to be postponed, and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has announced the postponement of the CA exams scheduled from May 9 to 14, 2025. However, JEE Advanced 2025 remains unaffected at this time.
