The Consortium of Medical, Engineering, and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) has announced the postponement of the Undergraduate Entrance Test (UGET) 2025 in 13 examination centers due to escalating military tensions between India and Pakistan, under the directive of Operation Sindoor.

Affected Cities

The examination has been deferred in the following cities:

• Gujarat: Jamnagar

• Haryana: Ambala

• Jammu and Kashmir: Jammu, Srinagar

• Punjab: Amritsar, Bathinda, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Mohali, Patiala

• Rajasthan: Bikaner, Jodhpur, Sriganganagar

Approximately 3,000 candidates were scheduled to appear for the exam in these locations.

Official Statement

In an official notice, COMEDK stated: “In line with the directives issued by the Government of India as part of ‘Operation Sindoor’, the above cities have been directed to close down educational institutions and establishments. We wish to inform all students who have been allotted the above centres for the COMEDK UGET 2025/Uni-GAUGE E 2025 exam which is scheduled to be held on 10th May 2025, not to be apprehensive or worried.”

Dr. S. Kumar, Secretary of COMEDK, assured students: “We have sent individual communication to all students regarding the postponement. We have advised them not to panic and will hold the exam on an alternate day whenever the government permits.”

Exam Schedule for Other Cities

For candidates in other cities, the COMEDK UGET 2025 will proceed as scheduled today, May 10, 2025. The exam is being conducted in three shifts:

• Morning Session: 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM

• Afternoon Session: 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM

• Evening Session: 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM

The examination comprises 180 multiple-choice questions, with 60 questions each from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

COMEDK has advised candidates from the postponed centers to regularly check the official websites www.comedk.org and www.unigauge.com for updates regarding the rescheduled exam dates. The consortium emphasized that students should not panic and that new dates will be announced soon.
