BHU UG second allotment list out at bhuonline.in; what’s next

BHU UG Admission 2023: Candidates can now accept the ‘offer of admission’ and deposit ‘commitment fee’ by tomorrow.

The Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has announced the second allotment list for admission to undergraduate programmes. Candidates can now check the BHU UG second allotment list at bhuonline.in. Candidates can now accept the ‘offer of admission’ and deposit ‘commitment fee’ so that their seat may be upgraded in the next round if they choose to float (is prepared to upgrade their allocation). Candidates eligible for admission according to the second list may deposit their fee by tomorrow, August 14 (5:59pm).

The candidate can get upgraded in the same faculty, meaning he gets higher preference within the same programme. Explaining further, the university said, in this case the candidate shall be under compulsion to accept the new programme. Hence, if a student, it added, getting BA social sciences history (hons) in first round decides to float and in the second round he gets higher preference say BA social sciences economics (hons), he will have to accept economics (hons) and cannot go back to history hons.

As many as eight rounds of seat allotment will be announced by the university. Computation of vacancies after the regular rounds of counselling will be done on August 16.

If candidates get ‘Offer of Admission’ in some other faculties or programmes, the candidates will have the option to remain in their original allotment or shift to the new faculty. If the candidate accepts the offer and moves to new faculty e.g. he/she had originally paid commitment fee for BA social sciences, history (hons and subsequently shifts to BCom, he will not be subsequently allowed to go back to BA social sciences history (hons). In case he sticks to BA social sciences history (Hons) and foregoes BCom, he/she will not be considered for BCom in future.

“Under no circumstances request to revert to previous allotment will be entertained once the candidate has chosen to upgrade or has moved to some other faculty/program,” BHU added.

A candidate who is waitlisted in earlier rounds may get a confirmed seat in subsequent round. In this case again he/she can either get ‘offer of admission’ in one course or more and the rules will be the same, the university said.
