WBJEE result 2025 out after legal deadlock over OBC quota, relief for engineering aspirants

    WBJEE

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) has finally declared the WBJEE 2025 results, bringing relief to thousands of students awaiting their engineering admission prospects. The results were delayed due to a legal deadlock over the implementation of OBC quota, which had stalled the publication of the merit list.

After the Calcutta High Court gave its clearance on the matter, the board proceeded to release the results on its official portal. Candidates can now download their rank cards using their application number and password.

    Legal Deadlock Over OBC Quota

The delay stemmed from petitions challenging the applicability of certain OBC certificates and their verification in the admission process. The High Court directed the board to ensure proper scrutiny while safeguarding the interests of both reserved and general category candidates. With the ruling in place, WBJEEB finalized the merit list and declared the results.

    Relief for Aspirants

The declaration of results has brought relief to thousands of students and their families, who were worried about the academic calendar being disrupted. Engineering aspirants can now move ahead with the counselling and seat allocation process for admission to BTech, BPharm, and other professional courses across the state.

    Counselling to Begin Soon

WBJEEB is expected to release the detailed counselling schedule shortly. The process will include:

    • Registration and payment of counselling fee

    • Choice filling and locking of colleges/courses

    • Publication of seat allotment results

    • Reporting to the allotted institute for admission confirmation
