UP NEET UG 2025: Seat Resignation Deadline for Rounds 1 & 2 Extended Till October 12
The Directorate General of Medical Education and Training, Uttar Pradesh (DGMER) has announced an extension of the seat resignation deadline for Round 1 and Round 2 of UP NEET UG 2025 counselling till October 12, 2025.
This extension provides another opportunity for candidates who had earlier taken admission under state quota seats in MBBS and BDS programmes but now wish to resign their allotted seats before the commencement of Round 3 counselling.
According to the updated schedule available on the official website — upneet.gov.in — candidates must complete the seat resignation process through their respective allotted colleges within the extended timeline. After this date, resignations will not be accepted.
“The seat resignation window for candidates admitted in Rounds 1 and 2 has been extended till October 12, 2025, to ensure all students who wish to participate in further rounds can do so without penalty,” a DGMER official said.
Students who do not resign within the deadline will not be eligible to participate in subsequent rounds of counselling, as per the existing NEET UG counselling rules.
The decision comes amid the ongoing Round 3 counselling activities for NEET UG 2025, where several state and national-level counselling authorities have made schedule adjustments to accommodate technical and administrative delays.
