The Directorate General of Medical Education and Training, Uttar Pradesh, has officially announced the merit list for the stray vacancy round in the UP NEET UG 2024 counselling process. This round aims to fill the remaining seats in MBBS and BDS programmes across medical and dental colleges in the state. Eligible candidates can now proceed with the choice-filling process, allowing them one final opportunity to secure a seat in the desired medical colleges of Uttar Pradesh.
Along with the merit list, the directorate has also released the list of rejected candidates who are ineligible to participate in the choice-filling process.
Candidates who made it to the stray vacancy round merit list can start filling in their choices through the official UP NEET UG counselling portal. The choice-filling process is a crucial step in securing a seat and must be completed within the stipulated deadline to ensure eligibility.
Steps to Access the Merit List and Complete Choice Filling
1. Visit the official UP NEET UG counselling portal at upneet.gov.in.
2. Click on the “Merit List” link to check and confirm your eligibility in the stray vacancy round.
3. Once confirmed, proceed to the “Choice Filling” tab to select preferred institutions and courses.
4. Carefully review and submit choices before the deadline, as no changes will be allowed once submitted.
This stray vacancy round is critical for candidates who were unable to secure seats in the earlier rounds of UP NEET UG 2024 counselling. Seats allocated in this round are final, and candidates must report to their allotted institutions within the specified timeframe to confirm their admission.
The choice-filling window will remain functional till October 28 (2 PM), with the seat allotment result declaration scheduled for October 29, 2024.
