    Why Indian Schools Improved

The rankings are based on parameters like employability, return on investment (ROI), alumni outcomes, thought leadership, and diversity.

    • Indian B-schools have performed strongly in employability and alumni outcomes, which boosted their global standing.

    • However, challenges remain in areas such as gender and international diversity and ROI, where many global institutions outshine Indian counterparts.

    Significance for India

    1. Rising Global Competitiveness – The consistent climb of IIMs and other schools signals strong curriculum design, global tie-ups, and better hiring networks.

    2. Student Value – Improved rankings enhance the attractiveness of Indian MBAs for both domestic and international students.

    3. Focus Areas – For further progress, Indian schools must strengthen international diversity, faculty research output, and global student exchange programmes.

    4. New Entrants – The presence of schools like Woxsen indicates growing competition and diversification in the Indian MBA landscape.

    Year-on-Year Changes

    • IIM Bangalore rose from 53rd to 52nd.

    • IIM Ahmedabad improved from 60th to 58th.

    • IIM Calcutta advanced from 65th to 64th.

    • IIM Kozhikode and IIM Udaipur saw slight drops in their band positions, reflecting the competitive nature of global rankings.

    Outlook

While rankings alone don’t define the quality of an MBA, the improved global visibility of Indian institutions reflects a growing recognition of their academic excellence, placement outcomes, and alumni networks. To climb further, Indian B-schools must continue focusing on international collaborations, research, and student diversity.
