The National Institute of Design (NID) has officially opened the registration process for NID Design Aptitude Test (NID DAT) 2026. Aspiring candidates seeking admission to Bachelor of Design (B.Des) and Master of Design (M.Des) programmes across NID campuses can now apply online through the official website — admissions.nid.edu.

As per the official notification, the NID DAT 2026 Prelims exam will be conducted on December 21, 2025 in offline mode at designated test centres across India.

Eligibility Criteria:

• For B.Des: Candidates must have passed or be appearing in Class 12 (any stream) from a recognized board.

• For M.Des: Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university.

1. Visit the official website — admissions.nid.edu.

2. Register using email ID and mobile number.

3. Fill in personal, academic, and contact details.

4. Upload scanned documents, photograph, and signature.

5. Pay the application fee through online mode.

Exam Pattern (Prelims):

The NID DAT 2026 Prelims exam will consist of objective and subjective-type questions designed to test candidates’ design aptitude, creativity, observation skills, analytical ability, and visualization. Shortlisted candidates will be called for the Mains exam, which includes a studio test and personal interview.
