The University of Mumbai has officially started the undergraduate (UG) admission process for the academic session 2026-27 from today, May 6. Eligible students can now register online through the university’s admission portal for first-year degree courses offered under affiliated colleges across Mumbai and Maharashtra.
According to the official schedule, the online registration window opened at 11 AM on May 6 and will remain active till May 21, 2026, up to 1 PM. Candidates are required to complete both the university pre-admission enrolment process and the college-level admission form submission within the deadline.
Courses Offered Under NEP 2020
In line with the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, Mumbai University will offer:
- Three-year undergraduate degree programmes
- Four-year honours programmes with research options
- Five-year integrated UG-PG programmes
Admissions will be conducted for streams including Arts, Commerce, Science, Management, and other interdisciplinary programmes offered by affiliated colleges.

Reservation Policy
Mumbai University stated that admissions will follow the reservation norms prescribed by the Maharashtra government. The reservation structure includes seats for:
- Scheduled Castes (SC)
- Scheduled Tribes (ST)
- Other Backward Classes (OBC)
- Economically Weaker Sections (EWS)
- Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC)
Additional provisions are also available for women candidates, persons with disabilities, sports quota applicants, NCC/NSS achievers, children of ex-servicemen, and minority category students.
Admission Process
The admission process consists of two major steps:
- Online pre-enrolment registration on the university portal
- Separate application submission to the preferred affiliated colleges
Students are advised to carefully check eligibility criteria, merit calculation rules, and programme-specific requirements before applying. Minority quota and in-house admissions will also be conducted simultaneously during the registration period.
