JAP 2026 MBA Admissions: IIM Raipur to Conduct Interview Rounds for Four IIMs in Feb–March Using CAT 2025 Scores

    MBA

New Delhi: The Indian Institutes of Management have introduced a streamlined admission framework for the MBA 2026–28 batch through the Joint Admission Process (JAP 2026). Under this initiative, IIM Raipur will act as the coordinating institute and conduct the personal interview rounds for four participating IIMs based on CAT 2025 scores. The interview process is scheduled to take place during February and March 2026.

Unified Admission Process for Select IIMs

The JAP 2026 aims to simplify the MBA admission process by offering candidates a single, centralised platform for selection to multiple IIMs. Aspirants who appeared for CAT 2025 and selected the participating institutes while filling out the CAT application form will be eligible to take part in this joint process.

The four IIMs participating in JAP 2026 are:

    • IIM Raipur (Coordinating Institute)

    • IIM Kashipur

    • IIM Ranchi

    • IIM Tiruchirappalli

This joint process is expected to enhance transparency, reduce duplication of application procedures, and make the selection process more efficient for candidates.

    Selection Process and Interview Schedule

The JAP 2026 admission process will involve the following key stages:

    1. Mandatory Registration:
After the declaration of CAT 2025 results, eligible candidates must register on the official JAP portal. Only registered candidates will be considered for further stages of selection.

    2. Shortlisting Based on CAT 2025 Scores:
Shortlisting for interviews will be done primarily on the basis of CAT 2025 performance, along with minimum academic eligibility criteria as defined by each institute.

    3. Personal Interview (PI) Round:
Shortlisted candidates will be invited for the personal interview round, which will be conducted jointly by IIM Raipur for all participating institutes. The PI round is expected to be held between February and March 2026.

As per initial indications, the selection process may not include additional stages such as Written Ability Test (WAT) or Group Discussion (GD), with greater emphasis placed on CAT scores and personal interviews. However, institute-specific criteria and weightages will be announced separately.

What This Means for MBA Aspirants

The introduction of JAP 2026 offers several advantages to candidates:

    • A single interview process for multiple IIMs

    • Reduced application and interview burden

    • Clearer timelines and a more structured admission pathway

    • Institute-specific merit lists generated from a common interview round

Candidates are advised to regularly check official announcements from the participating IIMs for updates on registration dates, cut-offs, interview schedules, and final admission offers.

    Admission Landscape Beyond JAP 2026

IIMs not participating in JAP 2026 are expected to continue their admissions through existing mechanisms such as the Common Admission Process (CAP) or institute-specific selection procedures.
