DPS Bokaro’s Kumar Anmol Becomes Jharkhand Topper in National Astronomy Examination

Delhi Public School (DPS), Bokaro has once again reinforced its reputation as a centre of academic excellence, as its students delivered an outstanding performance in the National Standard Examinations (NSE) 2025–26, conducted by the Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT) in collaboration with the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE).

Kumar Anmol, a Class XII student of DPS Bokaro, brought immense pride to the school and the entire state by emerging as the Jharkhand State Topper (Group A) in the National Standard Examination in Astronomy (NSEA). With an impressive score of 118 marks, Anmol secured the top position among the five students selected from Jharkhand, showcasing exceptional conceptual clarity and analytical skills in astronomy.

Adding further glory to the school’s achievements, Aditya Mishra of Class XII demonstrated remarkable aptitude in life sciences by excelling in the National Standard Examination in Biology (NSEB). Aditya scored 96 marks, earning his place among the four state-level qualifiers in the Biology Group A category, a commendable feat in one of the most competitive Olympiad examinations.

Journey to the National and International Stage

Both achievers are now set to compete at the national level, taking a significant step closer to representing India on the global academic मंच.

Kumar Anmol will appear for the Indian National Astronomy Olympiad (INAO) scheduled on January 31, 2026. A strong performance in INAO will qualify him for the prestigious Orientation-cum-Selection Camp (OCSC) at HBCSE, Mumbai. From this camp, the top five students will be selected to form India’s team for the International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA), to be held in Hanoi, Vietnam.
Aditya Mishra is preparing to take the Indian National Biology Olympiad (INBO) on February 1, 2026, with the aspiration of advancing to the international biology Olympiad stage and representing the country at the global level.
