CBSE Class 10 Second Exam 2026: LOC Dates, Fees, Eligibility & Key Rules

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released detailed guidelines for the Class 10 Second Board Examination 2026, including the List of Candidates (LOC) submission dates, fee structure, and eligibility criteria under the newly introduced two-exam system.
📅 LOC Submission & Registration Timeline
CBSE has implemented a multi-phase LOC submission process, which is mandatory for appearing in the second exam:
- Phase 1 (Advance LOC Submission): March 18 to March 31, 2026
- Phase 2 (Post-Result Window): Begins from the next day after result declaration and remains open for 5 days
- Phase 3 (With Late Fee): Starts from the 7th day after result and is open for 2 days
As per the latest update, the post-result LOC window opened on April 16, 2026, giving students a limited time to apply.
👉 Important:
- LOC submission is done only through schools, not directly by students
- Without LOC submission, students cannot appear in the second exam
💰 Examination Fees
CBSE has prescribed the following fee structure:
- ₹320 per subject (within India)
- For up to 3 subjects → ₹960 total
- Late fee: ₹2000 (applicable in the final phase)
👉 Key points:
- Schools are not allowed to charge extra fees beyond CBSE norms
- Fee payment must be completed online within the LOC schedule

- Students placed in compartment (failed in 1–2 subjects)
- Private candidates can also apply through the LOC process

📝 Key Rules & Guidelines

📰 Conclusion
The CBSE Class 10 Second Exam 2026 offers students a valuable opportunity to improve their performance or clear failed subjects within the same academic year. However, with strict deadlines and a short LOC window, timely coordination with schools is essential to ensure participation.
