NEET UG Counselling 2025: MCC Approves Conversion of 188 Candidates to NRI Category

    NEET UG

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has officially approved the conversion of 188 NEET UG 2025 candidates from the Indian category to the NRI (Non-Resident Indian) category for Round 1 of counselling. These candidates have successfully submitted the required documents and are now eligible to participate under the NRI quota.

    🗂️ Document Submission Guidelines

Candidates seeking NRI category conversion were required to email scanned copies of the following documents to MCC:

    • NEET UG 2025 scorecard

    • Self-attested declaration confirming NRI/OCI/PIO status or confirming they are children of NRI parents

    • OCI/PIO card (if applicable)

    • Embassy certificate of the sponsor (parent or candidate)

The conversion approval is provisional and subject to final verification at the time of reporting to the allotted college. Additionally, the embassy certificates will be forwarded to the Ministry of External Affairs or the respective Indian embassies/high commissions for authentication.

📌 Important Notes for Converted Candidates

    • Original documents must be presented at the time of physical reporting to the allotted medical or dental college.

    • Failure to produce original documents or discrepancies during verification may result in seat cancellation under the NRI category.

    • MCC emphasized that the conversion applies only for Round 1, and those approved will be considered for NRI quota seat allotment accordingly.
