NEET UG 2025: 19-Year-Old Migrant Worker Cracks Exam, Admitted to Odisha Medical College

    NEET

At just 19, he has lived a life far tougher than most his age. Days spent carrying bricks at construction sites, evenings spent helping his parents earn a meagre wage, and nights stolen away with borrowed books under the flickering light of a lantern. Yet today, this young migrant worker from Odisha has secured admission to a government medical college after clearing the country’s toughest medical entrance — NEET UG 2025.

    A Childhood of Struggle

Born into a family of daily-wage labourers, his early years were defined by uncertainty. His parents often migrated in search of work, and so did he, leaving behind classrooms for construction sites. Still, he carried an unshaken dream — to wear a doctor’s white coat one day and serve people like his parents, who had little access to healthcare.

    Learning Against All Odds

    • Without the luxury of coaching centres or tutors, he relied on free online lectures, second-hand books, and library hours.

    • Many nights, he studied after long shifts, sometimes falling asleep over worn-out notebooks.

    • His preparation was built on discipline: revising concepts daily, solving old NEET papers, and watching recorded science lectures on a borrowed mobile phone.

    The Moment of Triumph

When the NEET UG 2025 results were declared, his name on the qualifying list felt surreal. Against thousands of well-prepared candidates, he had carved out a place with sheer willpower. His score earned him a seat at a government medical college in Odisha, fulfilling the dream that once seemed impossible.

    Tears of Pride

For his parents, who once worried if they could afford his textbooks, the moment was overwhelming. His father, with calloused hands from years of labour, called it “the happiest day of our lives.” His mother, holding back tears, said, “We worked so our son could study — today, he has made our sacrifices worth it.”

    A Symbol of Hope

Teachers and neighbours now call him a role model for children in rural and migrant communities. His story is being shared widely as proof that poverty need not decide destiny. For thousands of students preparing without resources, his journey stands as a living example that dreams, no matter how distant, can be achieved with grit.

    Looking Ahead

As he prepares to step into medical college, he carries both excitement and responsibility. “I want to become a doctor for the poor,” he says softly. “No family should have to suffer because they cannot afford treatment.”
