MCC NEET UG Counselling 2024: Round 2 registration begins tomorrow; who’s eligible for allotment?
An applicant who qualified in the second round of counseling but did not receive a seat can move on to the third round without needing to register again.
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will begin the registration process for the second round of National Eligibility Entrance Test – Undergraduate (NEET UG) counselling 2024 on September 5.
This round is crucial for students seeking admission to All India Quota (AIQ) seats in MBBS and BDS programs at medical and dental colleges across the country. The registration period will conclude on September 10, giving candidates a limited window to complete their application process.
Candidates who participated in the first round of MBBS and BDS counselling but were not allotted a seat, or who failed to report to their assigned seat, do not need to re-register for the second round. However, new applicants participating in this round for the first time must pay the necessary registration fee and select fresh choices of colleges and courses.
For those who participate in the second round of counselling but do not receive a seat, the process is straightforward—they can proceed to the third round without the need for re-registration. However, it is important to note that if a candidate is allotted a seat in the second round but chooses not to attend, their security deposit will be forfeited.
Eligibility for Second Round Seat Allotment
The second round of seat allocation is open to specific groups of candidates. The following individuals are eligible:
– Registered candidates who did not secure a seat in the first round of counselling.
– Candidates who were allotted a seat in the first round but had their seat cancelled during the document verification process upon reporting for admission. These candidates will be considered for the second round, provided there are available seats in the relevant category.
– Applicants who reported to their allotted institute in the first round and opted for an upgrade in the second round.
– Those who were assigned a seat but did not participate in the process.
– Candidates who resigned from their first-round seat online.
