The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the official answer key for JEE Main 2025 Session 1. Candidates can challenge the provisional answer key until February 6, 2025. Calculating Your NTA Score:
The NTA score, also known as the percentile score, reflects your relative performance among all test-takers. It’s calculated through a normalization process to account for variations in difficulty across different sessions. The formula used is:
Percentile Score=(Number of candidates who scored equal to or less than youTotal number of candidates)×100\text{Percentile Score} = \left( \frac{\text{Number of candidates who scored equal to or less than you}}{\text{Total number of candidates}} \right) \times 100
This calculation is done separately for each subject—Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics—and for the overall score. The highest scorer in each session receives a percentile of 100. This method ensures fairness, especially when multiple sessions may have varying levels of difficulty.
For a detailed explanation of the normalization process and how the NTA score is derived, you can refer to the official NTA website or trusted educational resources.
