JEE Advanced 2025 Results Declared: 54,378 Qualify for IIT Admissions, Marking a 12.7% Increase from Last Year

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur has announced the results of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2025. A total of 54,378 candidates have qualified for admission to premier engineering institutes across India, reflecting a significant 12.7% increase compared to last year’s 48,248 qualifiers .

This year’s examination saw improved gender representation, with a notable increase in the number of female candidates qualifying for the JoSAA counselling process .
Top Performers:
AIR 1: Rajit Gupta (IIT Delhi zone) – 332/360 marks
Top Female Candidate: Devdutta Majhi (IIT Kharagpur zone) – AIR 16 with 312 marks
The examination was conducted on May 18, 2025, and the results were made available on the official website jeeadv.ac.in.
Next Steps:
Qualified candidates are eligible to participate in the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counselling process, which begins on June 3, 2025, at 5 PM. The counselling will facilitate admissions into IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs). Candidates can register and fill in their choices on the official JoSAA website: josaa.nic.in .
