    GATE 2024 registration process to start tomorrow; know eligibility criteria, fee

    Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, will start the online application process for GATE 2024 on the official website gate2024.iisc.ac.in.

    The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bengaluru will open the registration window for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE 2024) examination tomorrow. Aspirants can apply for the GATE 2024 on the official website, gate2024.iisc.ac.in.

    The GATE 2024 exam will be conducted for admission to MTech programmes in Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and IISc, Bengaluru, on February 3, 4, 10, and 11. The registration window (without late fee) for the examination will close on September 29, following which candidates can apply for the online application process by paying late fee till October 13.

    GATE 2024 eligibility criteria

    Candidates applying for the examination should have completed a bachelor’s degree in engineering, technology, architecture, science, commerce, arts or humanities for appearing for GATE 2024. Candidates studying third or higher year of their degree programme can also appear for the examination. Candidates should ensure that their certification is approved by MoE, AICTE, UGC, UPSC as equivalent to BE, BTech, BArch or B.Planning.

    Candidates belonging to SC, ST and PwD categories will have to pay Rs 900 as registration fee. They will have to pay an additional Rs 500 in case they apply after September 29. Candidates of other categories, including foreign nationals, will have to pay Rs 1,400 as application fee and an additional Rs 500 in case of late fee.

    Documents required for GATE 2024

    Students will have to submit coloured photograph, signature, photo ID, and category certificates, wherever applicable. The size requirement of these documents will be mentioned in the application form. They will also have to submit a government identity proof. The accepted photo identification cards are Aadhaar card, Aadhaar virtual ID, passport, PAN card, Voter ID card, driver’s License and other government issued ID.

    They will have to produce the original uploaded photo Id card during the examination for verification purposes, failing which the candidate may not be allowed to appear for the examination.

    The candidates will be able to change their category, paper and examination city, adding a new test paper, and change of personal details (additional fee applicable per change) till November 11. Admit Cards will available on the official website, gate2024.iisc.ac.in, on January 3, 2024.
