CBSE Class 10 English board exam 2025 easy but tricky; paper had competency-based questions

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) commenced the Class 10 board examinations for the academic year 2024-25 on February 15, 2025, with the English Language and Literature paper. Students and educators have described the paper as balanced and aligned with the sample papers and prescribed syllabus.
The exam was structured into three sections:
Section A: Reading
Included passages that required comprehension and analysis.Section B: Writing and Grammar
Featured tasks such as formal letter writing and analytical paragraphs, assessing students’ writing skills and grammatical knowledge.Section C: Literature
Contained questions based on the prescribed literature, testing students’ understanding and interpretation of literary texts.
While many students found the paper straightforward, some noted that certain questions were designed to test higher-order thinking skills, making them appear tricky despite the overall ease of the paper. This aligns with CBSE’s emphasis on competency-based education, aiming to assess students’ analytical and problem-solving abilities.
In Ranchi, students expressed satisfaction with the exam. Ashu Kumar mentioned that the English paper was not tough, and another student, Tania, felt confident about her performance and anticipated good scores.
Overall, the CBSE Class 10 English board exam 2025 was well-received, with its balanced approach effectively evaluating both knowledge and critical thinking skills.
