The CAT 2024 exam will have three sections – verbal ability and reading comprehension (VARC), data interpretation and logical reasoning (DILR), and quantitative aptitude (QA). There will be a total of 66 questions in CAT 2024 paper. As per CAT 2024 marking scheme, candidates will get 3 marks for each correct answer and one mark will be deducted for each incorrect response. There will be no negative marking for incorrect answers.

CAT 2024 eligibility criteria

• Qualifying exam: Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree with a CGPA of at least 50% (45% for SC, ST, and PwD, DA categories) from a recognized university to appear in the CAT exam 2024.
• Degree duration and mode: The degree must be a 3-year program and could be completed through regular, distance, or online modes.
• Final year students: Candidates in their final year or awaiting their degree results are eligible to apply for the CAT exam 2024.
• Professional degree: Those with professional degrees such as CA, CS, ICWA, or FCAI are also eligible.
• Work experience: The CAT exam is open to both fresh graduates and working professionals. Although not mandatory, work experience is beneficial during the admission process after the CAT exam.
