A student at Indian Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University (IIT-BHU) has been offered an annual package of Rs 1.65 crore.
The job offer was made on the first day of the campus placement drive, which began at the Satish Dhawan Hostel of IIT (BHU) late Saturday night, said Prof Sushant Kumar Shrivastava, coordinator of training & placement cell, IIT-BHU.

While details of the job offer would be released after the drive gets over on Dec 8, the coordinator said that nearly 1,506 students (B.Tech-915, M.Tech-303, IDD-288) have registered for the placement drive this year. “On the first day, the students received 432 job offers from 160 companies, with CTC ranging from Rs 35 lakh to Rs 1.65 crore per annum,” the coordinator said.

Around 300 national and multi-national companies are conducting interviews with the students. The placement process will continue until Dec 8. According to Prof Shrivastava, pre-final year students received 399 paid internship offers from 87 companies. As many as 71 companies gave 262 POP (pre- placement offers), while 89 companies gave 170 offers for final placement on the first day.

The companies conducting interviews in the placement drive include Squarepoint, Google, Microsoft, Harness, Alphonso, AQR Capital, Oracle, OLA, Thoughtspot, Flipkart, HiLabs, DE Shaw, Nutanix, Zomato, and others.
