The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the launch of a special initiative aimed at enhancing career guidance in schools. Starting from June 12, 2025, the board will conduct a series of career awareness programmes for school principals and counsellors across the country.

This initiative is part of CBSE’s ongoing efforts to equip educational leaders with the tools and knowledge necessary to guide students in making informed career choices, especially in the rapidly evolving landscape of higher education and employment.

Key Details:

• Programme Start Date: June 12, 2025

• Target Participants: Principals and School Counsellors

• Organised By: CBSE in collaboration with career and education experts

• Mode: Online and offline sessions across regions

The sessions will cover:

• Emerging career opportunities in India and abroad

• New-age skills and interdisciplinary careers

• Role of NEP 2020 in reshaping career pathways

• Mental health and career readiness among students

• Tools and resources for effective career counselling in schools

CBSE has encouraged all affiliated schools to actively participate in the initiative and nominate their principals and counsellors. Registration details and the complete schedule are available on the official CBSE website, cbse.gov.in.
