Madhya Pradesh BE, BTech admission 2025 starts on May 27; JEE Main cut-off for BPL, class IV out

May 27, 2025 | Bhopal — The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Madhya Pradesh, has commenced the online counselling process for Bachelor of Engineering (BE) and Bachelor of Technology (BTech) admissions for the 2025-26 academic session. This initiative aims to allocate over 70,000 seats across approximately 140 engineering colleges in the state, based on candidates’ performance in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025.
Counselling Schedule and Key Dates
Registration Period: May 27 to June 20, 2025
Correction Window: June 21 to June 22, 2025
Choice Filling: June 7 to June 24, 2025
Merit List Release: June 25, 2025
Seat Allotment Announcement: June 30, 2025
Reporting to Allotted Colleges: By July 4, 2025
Seat Upgrade Option: Available during the reporting period
The first round of counselling is exclusively for candidates who have appeared in the JEE Main 2025 examination. A second round, accommodating students who have not taken the JEE Main, will consider Class 12 marks and is scheduled to begin on July 5, 2025. Subsequent choice filling will occur from July 8 to July 16, with the merit list and seat allotment results to be released on July 17 and July 21, respectively. Reporting for this round is required by July 25, with branch upgrades permitted from July 27 to July 31. Any remaining vacancies will be addressed through college-level counselling starting August 2.
Special Provisions for BPL and Class IV Employees’ Wards
In an effort to promote inclusivity, the DTE has announced specific JEE Main 2025 cut-off ranks for candidates under the Below Poverty Line (BPL) category and wards of Class IV employees of the Madhya Pradesh state government. These candidates are eligible for benefits in the first round of counselling only. The qualifying All India Common Rank (JEE Main cut-off) for these categories are as follows:

Eligible candidates must select their preferences according to the counselling programme and complete the choice locking process within the stipulated timeframe.
Application Process
Candidates are required to register online through the official DTE MP portal: dte.mponline.gov.in. The application process involves the following steps:
Registration: Fill in personal and academic details.
Document Upload: Submit necessary documents, including JEE Main scorecard, Class 10 and 12 mark sheets, domicile certificate, and category certificates if applicable.
Choice Filling: Select preferred colleges and branches.
Choice Locking: Finalize selections before the deadline.
A counselling fee of ₹1,530 (including counselling, tuition, and portal fees) is applicable for all candidates.
Reservation Policy
The DTE adheres to the following reservation policy for BE/BTech admissions:
Scheduled Castes (SC): 16%
Scheduled Tribes (ST): 20%
Other Backward Classes (OBC, excluding creamy layer): 14%
Economically Weaker Sections (EWS): 10%
Persons with Disabilities (PwD): 3%
Female Candidates: 30%
Others (e.g., NCC, NTPC wards, J&K migrants): As per specific criteria
