CBSE Board Exam Analysis 2025 : CBSE Class 10 maths paper ‘easy’ for most students; topics asked

    Exam

The CBSE Class 10 Mathematics exam for 2025, conducted on March 10, received mixed feedback from students and educators. Many students found the paper to be moderately difficult, with questions aligning closely with the NCERT curriculum. However, some reported challenges with time management due to the paper’s length.

    Exam Structure and Content:

The exam was structured into five sections, encompassing a variety of question types:

    • Section A: 20 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), each worth 1 mark.
    • Section B: 5 Very Short Answer (VSA) questions, each worth 2 marks.
    • Section C: 6 Short Answer (SA) questions, each worth 3 marks.
    • Section D: 4 Long Answer (LA) questions, each worth 5 marks.
    • Section E: 3 Case-Based questions, each worth 4 marks.

This format aimed to assess both foundational knowledge and higher-order thinking skills.

    Key Topics Covered:

The paper included questions from various mathematical domains:

    • Algebra: Featured prominently, with some students finding certain questions challenging.
    • Geometry and Trigonometry: Covered with a mix of direct and application-based questions.
    • Probability and Statistics: Included questions that tested students’ understanding of these concepts.

This distribution ensured a comprehensive evaluation of the syllabus.

    Student and Teacher Feedback:

    • Students: While many appreciated the straightforward nature of the questions, others struggled with complex calculations and application-based problems. Time management emerged as a common concern due to the paper’s length.

    • Teachers: Educators observed that the paper effectively assessed students’ understanding through a balanced mix of competency-based and direct questions. However, some noted that certain questions, especially in algebra and coordinate geometry, were unexpectedly tricky, requiring deeper analytical skills.

    Advice for Future Aspirants:

To excel in future examinations, students are advised to:

    • Thoroughly revise the NCERT textbooks: As the exam closely follows the NCERT curriculum, a strong grasp of these materials is crucial.

    • Practice diverse question types: Engage with a variety of problems, especially application-based and higher-order thinking questions, to build versatility.
