No change in CBSE Class 10 subjects for 2026, board will offer 45 languages: Chairman clarifies

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has confirmed that there will be no changes to the Class 10 subject offerings for the academic year 2025-26. The board will continue to offer a comprehensive curriculum that includes 45 languages, ensuring students have a wide array of linguistic options.
This clarification comes amidst recent reforms announced by CBSE, notably the introduction of twice-yearly board examinations for Class 10 starting in 2026. This initiative aims to reduce exam-related stress and provide students with multiple opportunities to perform their best.
Despite these structural changes in the examination system, the subject offerings remain consistent. Students will continue to study a combination of languages and core subjects as per the existing scheme of studies. The curriculum encompasses a diverse range of languages, including regional and foreign languages, to cater to the varied linguistic backgrounds of students.
CBSE’s commitment to maintaining a diverse and inclusive curriculum reflects its dedication to providing holistic education. Students and educators are encouraged to refer to the official CBSE curriculum documents for detailed information on subject offerings and to stay informed about any future updates directly from official CBSE communications.
