Nepalese students fear returning to KIIT campus after row over student’s death
The recent tragic death of Prakriti Lamsal, a Nepali student at KIIT University, has led to significant unrest among the Nepalese student community on campus. Following her demise, protests erupted, during which several Nepalese students were reportedly forcibly evicted from the university premises. Despite subsequent apologies from the university administration, many of these students now express deep fear and mistrust about returning to the campus. In response to the incident, a petition has been initiated, demanding justice for Prakriti Lamsal and highlighting the alleged negligence by the university authorities in addressing her prior complaints.
