The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has issued a revised set of rules for Karnataka NEET UG Counselling 2025, introducing a change in the fee structure for Choice-2 candidates. As per the update, these candidates will now be required to pay a reduced advance fee instead of the earlier full fee amount.

Under the revised guidelines, Choice-2 candidates — those who accept the allotted seat in the current round but wish to participate in the next round — will only need to deposit an advance payment, with the balance payable upon final admission confirmation.

KEA officials stated that the move aims to ease the financial burden on students and parents, especially for those who are still exploring better seat options in subsequent rounds.

Key Points from the KEA Notification:

• The reduced advance fee will be applicable only to Choice-2 candidates.

• Candidates must still complete document verification and confirm their willingness to participate in further rounds.

• The updated fee details and payment deadlines have been published on the official KEA website — kea.kar.nic.in.

KEA has urged candidates to go through the revised rules carefully to avoid any confusion during the reporting process. The counselling authority also reminded applicants that failure to adhere to timelines will result in forfeiture of the allotted seat.
