JEE Advanced : A candidate can attempt maximum of three times in three consecutive years.
JEE Advanced Eligibility Criteria 2025: The top 2.5 lakh candidates who will qualify JEE Main 2025 will be eligible to register for JEE Advanced 2025. In this article, we will address the eligibility for JEE Advanced in detail. To appear for JEE Advanced 2025 there are no minimum marks needed in class 12, however, note that to get admission to the IITs candidates will need a minimum of 75% marks in class 12. Talking about the number of attempts in JEE Advanced, then candidates can appear in JEE Advanced three times. However, the three attempts allowed must be consecutive. Candidates who have appeared in JEE Advanced 2024 can appear for JEE Advanced 2025.
Criteria 2: JEE Advanced Age Limit
Candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 2000. Five years of age relaxation is given to SC, ST, and PwD candidates, ie, these candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 1995.
Criteria 3: Number of JEE Advanced Attempt Limit
Criteria 4: Appearance Year of Class 12 / Qualifying Exam
A candidate should have appeared for the Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in either 2024 or 2025 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. Candidates who had appeared in Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in 2023 or earlier, are NOT eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2025, irrespective of the combination of subjects attempted/offered.
Note: By appearance in Class XII (or equivalent) examination, it is meant that the Board concerned declared the result for that year irrespective of whether or not the examination was conducted. It will be considered as an appearance even if the result of a particular candidate got withheld.
