Kota, Rajasthan, May 20, 2025 — The JEE Advanced 2025 examination, conducted on May 18, has been characterized by leading coaching institutes in Kota as “lengthy” and “moderately to difficult.” Institutes such as Allen, Resonance, and Motion reported that students found both papers challenging, with Paper 2 being notably more difficult due to its conceptual depth and time-consuming problems.

Subject-Wise Analysis

• Mathematics: Widely regarded as the most challenging section in both papers, students encountered lengthy and calculation-intensive questions, particularly from topics like matrices and determinants.

• Physics: Candidates reported that physics questions were conceptually demanding and time-consuming, covering topics such as electrostatics, sound waves, optics, and mechanics.

• Chemistry: Considered the most scoring section, chemistry questions were relatively straightforward, providing some relief to students amidst the challenging math and physics sections.

Student Reactions

Students across various centers echoed similar sentiments regarding the exam’s difficulty:

• Animesh Verma noted, “Physics was the most time-consuming, with topics like electrostatics and mechanics being particularly challenging.”

• Smita Gupta shared, “In mathematics, questions from matrices and determinants were really tough; it was calculation-intensive.”

Despite the challenges, the increased number of B.Tech seats in IITs this year offers a silver lining for aspirants.
