IIT Kharagpur Placements 2024–25: 1,800 Offers Made by Day 3, Nine Students Bag ₹1 Crore+ Packages
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur has once again made headlines with its remarkable placement season for 2024–25. Within the first three days of the campus recruitment drive, the institute witnessed over 1,800 job offers, reflecting strong industry confidence in the talent nurtured at one of India’s premier engineering institutions.
Among the standout achievements, nine students received annual salary packages exceeding ₹1 crore, with the highest package offered touching a staggering ₹2.14 crore per annum. In total, the institute secured 25 international job offers and over 409 pre-placement offers (PPOs).
The recruitment drive saw participation from more than 400 national and international companies, spanning key sectors such as software development, analytics, core engineering, finance, and consulting.
Director Prof. Amit Patra called the placement outcomes a “defining moment” for the institute, attributing the success to IIT Kharagpur’s continuous curriculum modernization to meet the demands of AI, data science, and deep-tech industries.
Chairperson of the Career Development Centre (CDC), Prof. Rajib Maity, credited the collaborative effort of students, faculty, and alumni for this performance:
“The results reflect the strength of our academic programs and real-world readiness. We are committed to ensuring every student is prepared for both traditional and emerging career pathways.”
This year’s numbers surpass previous records and come amid a globally challenging job market, highlighting IIT Kharagpur’s resilience and its growing reputation as a top global talent hub.
