FIITJEE coaching centres shut in Noida, Ghaziabad; parents accuse DK Goel of fraud, demand refund

Several FIITJEE coaching centers in Noida and Ghaziabad have recently closed, leaving numerous students and parents in distress. The closures are attributed to mass resignations by teachers due to unpaid salaries. Parents, having paid substantial fees—up to ₹4 lakh—for their children’s coaching, are now demanding refunds and have filed complaints against FIITJEE’s founder, D.K. Goel, alleging fraud.
The sudden shutdowns have disrupted the academic preparations of many students aiming for engineering entrance exams. In response, local authorities have initiated investigations into the matter. For instance, in Noida, parents lodged a complaint at the Sector 58 police station after the FIITJEE center in Sector 26 ceased operations without issuing refunds.
This situation has raised significant concerns about the financial stability and management practices of FIITJEE, a prominent coaching institute established in 1992 by D.K. Goel. The institute has faced previous controversies, including legal disputes over fee refunds and allegations of misusing a student’s name for promotional purposes.
As the investigation progresses, affected parents and students are advised to stay informed through official channels and consider exploring alternative coaching options to continue their exam preparations.
