OVERVIEW

West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board conducts the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) for admission to different Undergraduate Courses in Engineering & Technology, Pharmacy, and Architecture in Universities, Government Colleges as well as Self Financed Institutes in the State of West Bengal.

WBJEE 2025 Exam will be conducted in the fourth week of April 2025. WBJEEB will conduct this for admission to UG courses. WBJEE Notification will be released soon in December 2024.

 

Class 12th passed or appearing students are eligible to apply for WBJEE. Admission will be given to the various UG courses such as Engineering/ Technology, Pharmacy and Architecture courses. Eligible candidates can get admission in different universities, government Colleges as well as Self-Financing Engineering/ Technological Institutes in State of West Bengal.

PATTERN

  • The exam will be a pen-and-paper based examination.
  • All the questions will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ).
  • There will be three categories of questions in each subject.
  • Answers are to be marked (bubbled) by using only a blue/black ball-point pen on the OMR Answer Sheet.

 

QUESTION TYPES

Question Category 1

  • Only one option is correct.
  • Correct option will yield 1 (one) mark.
  • Incorrect option will yield -¼ (negative ¼) marks.
  • For any combination of more than one option, the said answer will be treated as incorrect and will yield -¼ (negative ¼) marks.
  • Not attempting the question will fetch zero marks.

 

Question Category 2

  • Only one option is correct.
  • Correct option will yield 2 (two) mark.
  • Incorrect option will yield -½ (negative ½) marks.
  • For any combination of more than one option, the said answer will be treated as incorrect and will yield -½ (negative ½) marks.
  • Not attempting the question will fetch zero marks.

 

Question Category 3

  • One or more options are correct.
  • Marking all correct options only will yield 2 (two) marks.
  • For any combination of answers containing one or more incorrect options, the said answer will be treated as incorrect and it will yield zero (0) mark.
  • For partially correct answers, i.e. when all correct options are not marked and also no incorrect option is marked, marks awarded = 2 X (no of correct options marked) / (total no of actually correct options).
  • Not attempting the question will fetch zero marks.

Eligiblity

To fulfill the eligibility criteria will be mandatory to apply. Candidates can check out the given section to know the complete eligibility:

General Eligibility:

  • Nationality: Applying candidates must be Indian citizen or OCI to be eligible for exam.
  • Age Limit: Candidates age must be 17 years as on 31st December 2025 for Engineering & Technology. There will be no upper age limit for the candidates to apply.
  • The upper age limit must be 25 years to get admission in Marine Engineering course.
CoursesEligibility Criteria
For Engineering & Technology Course
  • Qualification: Those passed candidates in class 12th or equivalent from any Central Government board or any recognized board will be eligible to apply.
  • Marks: Candidates must score at least 45% marks (40% marks for SC/ ST/ OBC category candidates) to appear.
  • Subject: To apply for the exam, candidates must pass with Physics and Mathematics as a mandatory subject with any of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Computer Science, etc.
For Architecture Course
  • Qualification: To apply, candidates must pass 12th or intermediate or equivalent from any recognized board.
  • Subject: Candidates must pass with subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as a compulsory subject in the qualifying exam.
  • Marks: In individual subject, candidates must score at least 50% marks.
  • Scores: Those applying candidates must have a valid score of NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture).
For Pharmacy Course
  • Qualification: From any recognized board, candidates must pass class 12th level to apply.
  • Marks: Candidates must score at least 45% marks for general and 40% marks for reserved category candidates.
  • Subject: Candidates must have Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/ Biology as a mandatory subject to apply.

WBJEE 2025 Exam Pattern

Candidates can check the complete WBJEE exam pattern below:

  • Mode of Exam: Applying candidates can appear in the exam through offline mode.
  • Duration: Total 2 hours will be given to solve the exam.
  • Marks: Exam will consist of total 200 marks.
  • Total Questions: Total 155 questions will be asked in the exam.
  • Type of Questions: There will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) in the exam.
  • Marking Scheme: For each correct response, two marks will be given.
  • Negative Marking: For every incorrect answer, ¼ mark will be deducted.

WBJEE 2025 Syllabus

There will be various subjects in WBJEE syllabus such as Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. To prepare for the WBJEE 2025 exam, candidates must go through the given syllabus:

  • Physics: Measurements, units & dimensions, kinematics, laws of motion, gravitation, bulk properties of matter, viscosity, thermodynamics, kinetic theory of gases, oscillations & waves, electrostatics, current electricity, magnetic effect of current, atomic physics, etc
  • Chemistry: Molecules and Chemical Arithmetic, Atomic Structure, radioactivity, The periodic table and chemical families, chemical bonding and molecular structure, solid state, coordination compounds, chemical equilibria, chemical dynamics, latheniods, surface chemistry, Atoms, etc.
  • Mathematics: Trigonometry, coordinate geometry of two dimensions, calculus, vectors, statistics, and probability, sets, relations and mapping, binomial theorem, permutation and combination, polynomial equations, application of calculus, slope of line,Algebra, etc.

  • Facility such as Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card and UPI will be available to submit the fee.
  • Once submitted fee will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Procedure

WBJEE 2025 Application Form

Here we have provided the complete details related to the WBJEE 2025 application form below:

  • Candidates will be able to fill the WBJEE 2025 application from through online mode, no other method will be provided.
  • WBJEE 2025 registration form will be started from the fourth week of December 2024.
  • Candidates must have a valid mobile number and a unique email ID to register for the exam.
  • Fill the application form with details such as name, father’s name, mother’s name, qualification, date of birth, etc.
  • In case of any mistake in the form, candidates will be able to make corrections in the form during the correction window.
  • After filling the details in the form, upload the scanned copy of photograph and signature as per the given instructions.
  • It will be mandatory for the candidates to submit the form before the last date i.e before the second week of February 2025.
  • Recheck the details and submit the application form.
  • Do not forget to take a hardcopy of it for further usage in admission procedure.

 

How to Apply for WBJEE 2025

Candidates can check the step-by-step procedure below to apply:

  • Step-1: Visit the website of WBJEEB (Link will be given above).
  • Step-2: Press the available link “WBJEE 2025 Registration” on the homepage.
  • Step-3: Now start with the registration by entering the mobile number and Email ID.
  • Step-4: Start filling the application form with details such as personal, academic, contact details, etc.
  • Step-5: Now upload the scanned documents such as photograph and signature in specific format.
  • Step-6: Submit the fee through online mode using UPI, credit card, debit card, and net banking.
  • Step-7: Recheck the filled details in the form and submit it.
  • Step-8: Take a hardcopy of the form and keep it safe till the completion of admission.

 

 

WBJEE 2025 Application Correction

The WBJEE application correction facility will be provided by the authority through online mode. It will be available from the second week of February 2025 for two to three days only. In case of any mistake in the application form, candidates will be able to make correction in it during this facility.

There will be particular section in which candidates will be able to change the details. There will be no changes made in name, father’s name, mother’s name, gender, domicile, and date of birth. After closing the correction window, the board will not entertain any request for any correction.

 

 

WBJEE 2025 Admit Card

The WBJEE admit card will be released in the third week of April 2025. Candidates will be able to access the admit card through online mode. To download it, candidates will be required to use their login credentials such as login ID and Password.

Details such as name, registration number, signature, parents name, photograph, exam date and time, venue, address, etc will be available in the admit card. Candidates are advised to keep the hardcopy of the admit card safe, as it will be needed to carry at the exam center. It will be most important documents to carry on the day of exam along with the photo ID proof.

WBJEE 2025 Answer Key

WBJEEB will provide the WBJEE answer key on the website after conducting the examination. It will be released in the first week of May 2025 through online mode. Appeared candidates in the exam will be able to access the answer key. With the help of it, candidates will be able to predict their estimated scores in the exam.

The authority will also provide the facility to challenge the answer key. To raise objection against the answer key, candidates will be required to submit Rs. 500 as a processing fee. After analyzing all the raised objections, the final answer key will be published by the authority.

Result

The WBJEE result will be declared in the fourth week of May 2025 through online mode. WBJEEB will release it on the website. To access the result, candidates will be required to logging using the given credentials such as application number and password.

It will be prepared by the authority on the basis of the final answer key. The result will consist with the scores obtained by the candidates in the exam. Those qualified candidates in the exam will have to participate in the WBJEE 2025 counselling procedure.

 

 

 

 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • Candidates are advised to enter the examination centres at least 30 minutes before the commencement of the test.
  • Candidates must bring a printed copy of the downloaded Admit Card, One copy of the photograph same as uploaded in the Application, any photo Identity card, and a Black/ Blue Ball Point Pen.
  • Written or printed material, calculator, pen, log table, wristwatch, any communication device like mobile phones etc. are not allowed in the Examination Hall.

Counselling

WBJEE 2025 Cut Off

WBJEEB will publish the WBJEE cut off through online mode on the website. It will be the minimum rank to offer admission in the participating institutes. The cut off will be release in the form of opening and closing ranks with each round of seat allotment.

Those candidates whose rank is more than the WBJEE closing rank will be admitted to the participating institutions. It will be vary as per the different institutes, courses, and the category of candidates. The authority will consider various factors to determine the cutoff such as number of applicants, difficulty level of exam, number of seats, previous year cut off trends, etc.

WBJEE 2025 Counselling

WBJEE counselling will begin after the declaration of the result through online mode. There will be multiple rounds in counselling process depending on the availability of seats after each round. There will be various parts includes in counselling such as registration, choice filling & Locking, seat allotment, and acceptance of seats.

WBJEEB will provide the course wise and institute wise availability of seats. After releasing the allotment of seats, candidates will be required to pay for seat allotment and report to the institutes.
