    AILET 2026 Registration Begins; NLU Delhi to Conduct Exam on December 14

    The National Law University (NLU) Delhi has officially commenced the registration process for the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) 2026, the annual national-level entrance examination for admission to its prestigious law programmes. The exam is scheduled to be held on Sunday, December 14, 2025, in offline mode across various cities in India.

    Programmes Offered Through AILET 2026

    • B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) – Five-year integrated undergraduate law programme.

    • LL.M. – One-year postgraduate law programme.

    • Ph.D. in Law – Doctoral research programme.

    Registration Process

    Candidates can apply by filling out the online application form available on the official NLU Delhi portal. The process involves:

    1. Creating a candidate account.

    2. Filling in personal, academic, and communication details.

    3. Uploading scanned documents such as a photograph, signature, and category certificate (if applicable).

    4. Paying the application fee online through debit card, credit card, or net banking.

    Application Fees:

    • General Category: ₹3,500

    • SC/ST and PwD Candidates: ₹1,500

    • Below Poverty Line (BPL) applicants of SC/ST category: No fee

    Eligibility Criteria

    For B.A. LL.B. (Hons.):

    • Must have passed Class 12 or equivalent with at least 45% marks (40% for SC/ST/PwD).

    • Candidates appearing in Class 12 in 2026 are also eligible.

    For LL.M.:

    • Must have completed LL.B. or equivalent law degree with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwD).

    For Ph.D.:

    • LL.M. or equivalent law degree with minimum 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwD).

    Exam Pattern

    B.A. LL.B. (Hons.):

    • Sections: English Language, Current Affairs & General Knowledge, Logical Reasoning

    • Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

    • Mode: Pen-and-paper based (OMR sheet)

    LL.M.:

    • Sections: English Language, Legal Reasoning, Objective & Descriptive questions in Law

    Ph.D.:

    • Research Methodology and Legal Reasoning questions

    Important Dates

    • Registration Start Date: August 2025

    • Admit Card Release: Likely in the first week of December 2025
