Hyderabad: The International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Hyderabad has officially opened the UGEE 2026 registration process, inviting applications from eligible students for admission to its prestigious five-year dual degree undergraduate programmes. The UGEE 2026 application form is now available online, and interested candidates can apply through the official admissions portal.

UGEE, or the Undergraduate Entrance Examination, is conducted by IIIT Hyderabad to select students for its research-oriented BTech and MS by Research dual degree programmes. The exam offers an alternative admission route apart from national-level entrance tests and is aimed at identifying students with strong analytical ability and research aptitude.

• Registration begins: February 11, 2026

• Last date to apply: March 31, 2026

• UGEE 2026 exam date: May 2, 2026

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who have passed or are appearing in Class 12 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects are eligible to apply. Students who completed their qualifying examination between 2023 and 2026 can register for UGEE 2026.

Admission through UGEE 2026 will be offered to the following dual degree programmes:

• Computer Science and Engineering (CSD)

• Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECD)

• Computational Linguistics (CLD)

• Computational Natural Sciences (CND)

Exam Pattern

UGEE 2026 will be conducted as a computer-based test and will consist of two sections:

• SUPR (Subject Proficiency Test)

• REAP (Research Aptitude Evaluation)

Candidates shortlisted based on written exam performance will be called for on-campus interviews, which will play a crucial role in the final selection process. Negative marking will be applicable in both sections of the examination.

Application Fee

• ₹1,550 for female candidates

• ₹3,100 for all other candidates

The fee is non-refundable and must be paid online during the application process.
