    The NEET AIQ or All India Quota is a reservation criteria set by the Medical Counselling Committee or MCC. The MCC conducts a centralized counselling process for the allocation of medical seats against the AIQ. NEET AIQ seats for UG courses is 15% while the NEET AIQ seats for PG courses is 50%. To be eligible for the AIQ seats, students must clear the NEET exam.

    MCC is the sole authority responsible for UG and PG counselling and allocation of NEET AIQ seats. Students seeking admission to MBBS or BDS courses must be aware about the NEET 15% AIQ seats. OBC and EWS students receive reservation benefits of 27% and 10% AIQ seats, respectively.

    The UG counselling for 15% AIQ seats for the state’s MBBS/BDS courses is conducted by the MCC. AIQ seats against the 50% AIQ seats of all states are also conducted by the MCC. MCC conducts counselling for 100% of the AIQ and institutional seats of Central Universities such as Aligarh Muslim University, Banaras Hindu University and the University of Delhi. Candidates meeting the cutoff are offered seats at the medical colleges are offered seats through AIQ.

     

    NEET AIQ Highlights

    NEET exam 2026 is expected to be conducted during May, 2025. Student admission process to government funded medical colleges is based on the AIQ for 15% seats. Admission to top colleges like AIIMS, JIPMER, DU Medical Colleges, and GGSIPU is based on NEET UG AIR rank. It is also important to register for the MCC counselling rounds.     The Central Government provides reservation for OBC, SC, EWS, ST and PwBD candidates ranging from 27% to 5%.
