The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has commenced the registration process for the Civil Services Examination (CSE) Mains 2025. Candidates who have cleared the Preliminary Exam can now fill out the Detailed Application Form-I (DAF-I) on the official UPSC portal. The registration window will remain open until June 25, 2025.

🔹 Steps for Registration:

1. Log in with your One-Time Registration (OTR) credentials.

2. Fill in academic, personal, and service preference details.

3. Upload required documents including certificates, photos, and signatures.

4. Pay the registration fee:

   • ₹200 for General category candidates

   • Exempted for women, SC, ST, and PwBD candidates

5. Declare any scribe or special assistance requirements.

6. Submit gazette notification if there has been a name change.

📊 14,161 Candidates Eligible for Mains

As per official data, 14,161 candidates have qualified the Civil Services Prelims 2025, which was held on May 25. These candidates are now eligible to appear in the CSE Mains examination scheduled from August 22 to August 26, 2025.

The Mains consists of nine descriptive papers, including one essay, four General Studies papers, two optional subject papers, and two language papers (one Indian language and one English). This will be followed by the Personality Test (interview) for shortlisted candidates.

⚙️ New UPSC Portal for Applications

UPSC has introduced a new four-part online application portal in 2025 to simplify exam applications. Candidates applying for Mains are required to re-register through the new portal even if they were previously registered under the old system.

This updated portal integrates Aadhaar verification and breaks the process into four modules:

• Preliminary Exam Application

• Mains Exam Application (DAF-I)

• Interview Process (DAF-II)

• Subsequent Exam Tracking
