New Delhi, May 20, 2025 — The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced a significant revision to the Accountancy paper pattern for the Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET UG) 2025. Effective from May 22, the updated format introduces an optional component, allowing candidates to choose between questions from Unit V or an alternative unit. This change aims to better align the examination with the notified syllabus and accommodate diverse student preferences.

Key Changes in the Accountancy Paper

    • Optional Unit Introduction: Candidates can now opt to answer questions from either Unit V or an alternative unit, providing flexibility based on their strengths and preparation.

    • Implementation Date: The revised pattern will be applicable to Accountancy exams conducted from May 22 onwards.

    Retake Option for Early Examinees

Students who appeared for the Accountancy paper between May 13 and May 16, 2025, are offered a choice:

    • Retain Original Scores: Candidates satisfied with their performance can choose to keep their existing scores.

    • Opt for Re-examination: Those preferring to attempt the paper under the new format can retake the exam. Details regarding the re-examination process will be communicated through the official CUET website.

    Examination Mode and Preparation

All CUET UG 2025 exams, including the revised Accountancy paper, will continue to be conducted in a Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. This aligns CUET with other national-level exams like NEET and JEE, standardizing test formats across disciplines.

    Preparation Tips for Candidates:

    • Review Updated Syllabus: Ensure familiarity with the revised syllabus, focusing on Units 1 to 4 and the optional Unit V or its alternative.

    • Practice with Mock Tests: Utilize available mock tests to adapt to the CBT format and manage time effectively.

    • Stay Informed: Regularly check the official CUET website for updates on examination schedules, retake procedures, and other relevant information.
