The National Testing Agency (NTA) is facing significant backlash from JEE Main 2025 aspirants due to the delayed release of the final answer key and a record number of errors in the exam. Twelve questions were dropped from the final answer key, marking the highest number of such errors in recent years. This has raised serious concerns about the NTA’s ability to conduct a fair and transparent examination process .​

Key Issues Highlighted:

• Record Number of Dropped Questions: The error rate surged to 1.6%, significantly higher than the historical average of 0.6%, despite a reduction in the total number of questions from 90 to 75 .​

• Out-of-Syllabus Content: Questions on topics like the Carnot Cycle and Newton’s Law of Cooling, which had been removed from the syllabus, appeared in the exam, causing confusion among students .​

• Translation Errors: Discrepancies in language translations led to situations where students answering in Hindi and Gujarati had two correct answer choices, while others had only one, raising fairness concerns .​

• Lack of Transparency: NTA’s inconsistent reporting on the number of dropped questions and the removal of the final answer key from its website without notification have further eroded trust among candidates .​

Aspirants’ Reactions:

Students have expressed their frustration on social media, with many demanding the establishment of a new, more accountable examination body. The perceived mismanagement and lack of accountability have led to calls for systemic reforms in the examination process .

As the JEE Main 2025 results are awaited, the controversy underscores the need for greater transparency and reliability in the administration of high-stakes examinations.
