IIM Ahmedabad, Bangalore drop in QS top 50 universities for business and management studies rankings

In the latest QS Global MBA Rankings 2025, both the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM-A) and the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIM-B) have experienced declines in their global standings. IIM-A has dropped from 53rd place in 2024 to 60th in 2025, while IIM-B has fallen from 48th to 53rd over the same period.
Despite these declines, both institutions remain among the top 100 globally, reflecting their continued prominence in the field of business education. The QS Global MBA Rankings assess institutions based on various parameters, including employability, return on investment, entrepreneurship and alumni outcomes, thought leadership, and class and faculty diversity.
Notably, other Indian institutions have also been featured in the rankings. The Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM-C) is ranked 65th, and the Indian School of Business (ISB) is placed at 86th. Additionally, IIM Kozhikode has made its debut in the 151-200 band.
Globally, the top positions in the QS Global MBA Rankings 2025 are held by:
- Stanford Graduate School of Business (USA)
- Penn (Wharton) (USA)
- Harvard Business School (USA)
- MIT (Sloan) (USA)
- London Business School (UK)
These rankings underscore the competitive nature of global business education and highlight the areas where Indian institutions can focus to improve their standings in future assessments.
