🎓 Mumbai University Publishes Third UG Merit List for 850 Colleges

    Mumbai University

The University of Mumbai has released its third merit list for admission to undergraduate programmes (BA, BCom, BSc, BMS, BAF, BMM, BBI, BFM, etc.) across approximately 850 affiliated colleges, with around 2.5 lakh registered candidates eligible to check their allotment

📌 How to Check & What Comes Next

    • Visit the official University portal (mu.ac.in or muugadmission.samarth.edu.in).

    • Under the ‘Admission 2025‑26’ section, access the third merit list PDF.

    • Use your login credentials (application number and password).

    • Download and save the list for reference

    Successful candidates must complete:

    • Document Verification & Seat Acceptance Fee Payment: June 6–10, 2025

    • Original Documents Required: Class 10 & 12 mark sheets, identity proof, transfer certificate, caste certificate (if applicable), passport-size photographs

    • Classes begin from June 13, 2025

    🔻 Cut-offs & Trends

    • Several colleges, especially those offering BA and BCom, have seen noticeable drops in cut-offs, with BA cut-offs falling below 90% in some cases

    • Self‑financed streams like BBI dropped from 90% to 86.5%, while colleges like Ruthve College saw BA cut-offs around 84%

    • Professional course results (like CET for BBA, BMS, BCA) may trigger further seat shuffles, possibly opening more seats in these streams

    • High-appeal institutions like St. Xavier’s and Podar College have adjusted their admissions—some haven’t released a third list; others report modest cut-off shifts

    🗓️ Extended Deadlines

To accommodate students affected by delays or confusion around early HSC exam results, the University has extended the admission deadline to June 15 and adjusted key dates

    🧭 What’s Next?

    • Fourth Merit List: May be issued if seats remain unfilled post third round.

    • Further Seat Movement: Students awaiting CET/BMS/BBA/CET results may opt to shift, affecting future vacancies.

    • Orientation & Classes: Campus sessions will likely begin post-verification around June 13.

    ✅ Key Advice for Applicants

    • Complete the document verification and fee payment before June 10.
