About GNLU Gujarat
GNLU Gujarat, which was established in 2003 by the Gujarat National Law University Act, 2003, commenced its programmes in the year 2004. The university has a vast library and collection of more than 35,000 volumes of books, and law reports and has a subscription to 150 current journals, newspapers, reference books, and e-books.
It has huge resources in the field of law and other allied subjects such as Management, Sociology, Science & Technology, History, Economics, and English Literature. GNLU offers a platform for activities like mooting (which is done very strenuously), article-writing, research papers, and other opportunities in the competitions such as client-counseling.
The GNLU full form is Gujarat National Law University. It is among the top NLUs in India.
The Government of Gujarat established the university under the Gujarat National Law University Act, 2003.

Recognized by the Bar Council of India (BCI) and the University Grants Commission (UGC) under sections 2f & 12B, it also holds memberships in esteemed organizations. These organizations include the United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI), Association of Indian Universities (AIU), Asian Law Institute (ASLI), International Association of Law Schools (IALS), and the Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute.

History of Gujarat National Law University (GNLU)
Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar, was established through the significant contributions of key individuals. India’s Solicitor General Kirit Raval, Gujarat’s Chief Minister Narendra Modi, and the Bar Council of India came together to form this university.
It is modeled after the National Law School of India University in Bangalore. GNLU is the 7th National Law University in India. The establishment was made possible through the support of the Indian government, the Gujarat government, and the legal community. At first, Prof. (Dr.) V.S. Mani led it, then Prof. (Dr.) Bimal N. Patel. In 2012, GNLU moved to a new 50-acre campus in Gandhinagar’s Knowledge Corridor.
