CBSE 12th Results 2024: Pass rates of all schools increase, but students’ performance dips
CBSE Class 12th results of CTSA, KVS, JNVs, government, government-aided schools have improved this year. However, number of students scoring above 90 marks decreased.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared the CBSE Class 12th results 2024 for 16,21,224 students who appeared in the annual exam. As per the CBSE Class 12th result 2024, 14,26,420 students have been declared pass and the overall pass percentage is 87.98%. This year, all institutes performed better than the previous year, however, the performance of the students has not improved much, a comparative analysis of results reveals.
The overall performance of CBSE Class 12 students increased by only 0.65% compared to the previous year. Besides the two years impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, the pass rates saw a dip compared to the 2020 academic year.
The pass rates of all schools, including Central Tibetan School Administration (CTSA), Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs), government, government-aided schools improved this year.

CBSE 12th gender-wise results
As per the gender-wise results, girls outperformed boys by 6.40% this year by recording 91.52%, however it is just 0.84% more than 2023. On the other hand, boys pass percentage is at 85.12%; increased by 0.45% compared to the previous year. The pass percentage of girls and boys last year was 90.68% and 84.67% respectively. Whereas, transgenders saw a performance dip by 10% points this year.

CBSE Result 2024: Highest scores
To avoid unhealthy competition among students, the board has stopped announcing the toppers in the CBSE results. However, every year, the board announces the number of students who have secured above 90 and above 95 in all the subjects.
As per CBSE 12th results analysis, 1,16,145 students scored above 90% in Class 12 board exams and 24,068 obtained about 95%. However, the number of highest scorers has only increased slightly.
