The Centre has informed the Supreme Court that it will implement all corrective measures recommended by a seven-member expert panel concerning the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET-UG).

This panel, led by former ISRO chief K. Radhakrishnan, was established to review the National Testing Agency’s (NTA) procedures following controversies during the NEET-UG 2024 examination. The panel’s recommendations include stricter security protocols, improved question paper handling, and technological upgrades to ensure the integrity of the examination process.

Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, representing the Centre, informed a Supreme Court bench comprising Justices P.S. Narasimha and Manoj Misra that the committee has submitted its report and that the government intends to implement all the recommendations. The Court has scheduled a follow-up hearing in April to review the progress of these reforms.

These developments follow the NEET-UG 2024 examination, which faced issues such as alleged paper leaks and discrepancies in results, leading to legal challenges and demands for increased transparency and security in the examination process.
